A global institutional brokerage firm specializing in agency execution, electronic trading, and capital markets solutions is hiring a mid-to-senior C# Developer to join the Electronic Trading group.

The platform integrates high-performance trading technology with deep market expertise to deliver execution quality, liquidity access, and strategic advisory services to institutional investors. Sitting directly alongside the Algorithmic Trading desk, this is a hands-on development role with a strong performance engineering focus.

Role Description. What You’ll Do Day-to-Day

• Solution Engineering: Work in tight integration with quant and algo teams, sitting in direct proximity to the Algo Trading desk.
• Design and implement algorithmic trading solutions in partnership with Quantitative Research.
• Apply expertise in multi-threading, garbage collection (GC) optimization, and memory tuning. Contribute to the development and architecture of electronic trading systems.
• Performance tune latency-sensitive C# systems on the electronic trading platform; this is a primary, ongoing focus.
• Write and optimize KDB/Q queries against time-series market data; hands-on KDB usage is core to this position.
• Connectivity & Workflow: Support and enhance Order Management System (OMS) workflows and FIX protocol connectivity.
• Reliability: Build and maintain automated test tools to ensure platform robustness.
• Provide Level 2 support for trading systems, including fast triage and resolution during market hours.
• Partner effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders across the firm.

Requirements

• Advanced C#: Demonstrated experience in building high-performance, latency-critical trading systems.
• Technical Depth: Expertise in multi-threading, garbage collection tuning, and latency optimization. KDB/Q, SQL Expertise: Active, hands-on usage; ability to optimize queries independently.
• Protocol Knowledge: FIX protocol experience in a live trading environment.
• Platform Experience: Direct experience with Smart Order Routing, Order Management Systems (OMS) or Execution Management Systems (EMS).
• Industry Background: Experience in sell-side, broker-dealer, mutual fund, or capital markets trading technology.
• Experience: The ideal C# developer comes from a buy-side, broker-dealer, or OMS/EMS trading technology background.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in the Sciences preferred.
