Back-End Java Developer

Hybrid 4 days onsite in New York, NY

Our client requires a Senior Back-End Developer to design, develop, and maintain Java-based microservices for a complex loans processing platform. The developer will ensure scalability, performance, and robustness across services while collaborating with cross-functional partners to deliver secure, reliable APIs and integrations.

Rate: $90.00 to $99.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, scrum masters, and engineering teams to deliver features.
• Design, develop, and implement microservices using Java Spring Boot with modular, testable, and reusable code.
• Design, develop, and implement user interfaces using Angular and TypeScript/Java to support application needs.
• Ensure seamless integration and communication between front-end and back-end components.
• Create RESTful APIs and gRPC interfaces for inter-service and external system communication.
• Conduct code reviews and unit testing, and maintain CI practices to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Develop and present high-level design proposals and presentations to stakeholders.
• Provide input and decision support to manage blockers and ensure continuous workflow, helping refine and reprioritize backlogs.
• Foster collaboration by sharing knowledge across pods and participating in team sessions.
• Support team members in resolving challenges and maintaining alignment with the product vision.

Experience Requirements

• Strong expertise in Core and Advanced Java and J2EE.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying microservices using Spring Boot, Spring Batch, and Spring Data or similar frameworks.
• In-depth knowledge of REST API principles and the protocol.
• Solid grasp of Git, CI/CD, and Agile principles.
• Knowledge of JIRA, JUnit, and Apache Kafka preferred.
• Experience with Ethereum, Hyperledger Besu, and EVM-based platforms preferred.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science.
