Civil Service Position*

School Secretary 12 Months

• Answers phones and directs calls/takes messages.

• Answers doors, greets visitors and provides necessary assistance/direction.

• Manages the Raptor system to provide visitors appropriate access.

• Scanning, sorting, filing and other clerical work as needed.

• WinCap updates for name changes.

• Manages Vector training program, adding new hires as needed.

• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Human Resources.

• Other duties as described by Chautauqua County Civil Service job description.

• Use of the Spanish language (reading, writing, translation) preferred.

Needed: Immediately

7 ¾ hours/5 days

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or possession of a high school diploma and:

A. Completion of two (2) years of training in a recognized business or secretarial school with emphasis

on secretarial practices, and one year of clerical experience; OR

B. Completion of one (1) year of training in a recognized business or secretarial school with emphasis on secretarial

practices, and two (2) years of clerical experience; OR

C. Three (3) years of clerical experience, two of which shall have involved secretarial duties; OR

D. Any equivalent combination of experience and training as defined by the limits of A, B and C above.
