Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor shelter areas to ensure the safety, security, and well-being of all residents.

• Conduct regular walkthroughs and maintain a visible presence throughout assigned shifts.

• Greet and check in residents during intake and curfew hours; verify eligibility and complete documentation.

• Enforce shelter rules and policies fairly and respectfully.

• Respond to resident questions and concerns with empathy, de-escalate conflicts, and report incidents as needed.

• Support the cleanliness and order of common areas, dormitories, bathrooms, and program spaces.

• Distribute meals, supplies, and personal care items as needed.

• Maintain accurate logs, incident reports, and shift notes.

• Collaborate with case managers, social workers, and security personnel as appropriate.

• Participate in team meetings and training sessions.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Prior experience in a shelter, social services, or customer service setting strongly preferred.

• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations with patience and professionalism.

• Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.

• Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

• Ability to maintain boundaries and uphold confidentiality.

• Must pass a background check; CPR/First Aid certification may be required or provided.
