Corning Community College is currently seeking a skilled Nursing Faculty to join our team in the Fall 2026 Semester. Tenure-track faculty members in the Department of Nurse Education are expected to teach freshman level didactic and clinical courses. This position includes teaching across a variety of foundational and medical-surgical nursing courses with an emphasis on preparing entry-level nurses for safe, ethical, and evidence-based practice. The faculty member will be responsible for teaching didactic instruction and clinical supervision in courses such as Fundamentals of Nursing/Health Assessment, Introduction to Medical/Surgical Nursing, Medical/Surgical Nursing I, Behavioral Health/Mental Health Nursing and Pharmacology for Nursing. Faculty are responsible for teaching a minimum of 15 credit hours per semester.Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing and updating course materials, grading assignments and assessments, and holding office hours for each course taught to support student learning. Faculty are also expected to advise students on academic progress and career goals.Courses are offered in-person. Tenure-track faculty are expected to organize, maintain, and revise course content as needed to ensure instructional effectiveness and alignment with departmental and institutional standards.Occasional meetings at different CCC locations and in the community may be required; travel to conferences and/or recruiting events may be required.Prolonged time sitting/standing working with computers and monitors, ability to walk/move across campus including walking up and down stairs, ability to lift up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, repeated motions may include keyboard typing. Typical classroom, laboratory, office, and indoor building environments, occasional outdoor activity may be required.Incumbent must perform the essential duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Teaching Duties (60%)- Maintain current course content and up-to-date teaching methods At the start of the semester, provide students with a course outline and requirements for fulfilling the objectives of the course. This should include information about grading policies, class attendance policy, research projects and/or term paper requirements, and the nature of quizzes and examinations Be responsible for assuring accuracy of course content as defined in the catalogue Meet classes as scheduled and dismiss each class promptly Evening or weekend clinical assignments may be required Facilitate curriculum development Develop community outreach activities Utilize Microsoft Office and other relevant computer and software programs/skills to develop computer data base/system for program assessment, data collection, evaluation and potential accreditationEngage in professional development activities offered through the Center for Teaching and Learning and other external opportunitiesCollaborate with Workforce Development and other Academic Departments regarding noncredit and other professional training certifications and educationAdvising Duties (20%)-Post and maintain regular and reasonable office hoursRefer students to appropriate college services for specialized assistanceWrite recommendations for students who need references for work or for transfer to another collegeServe as an advisor to a student organizationCoordinate and participate in advisement and recruitment for new and current studentsCommittee Services (15%)-Attend pinning and graduation exercises, unless formally excused by the Associate Dean of Instruction and the Vice President and Dean of Academic AffairsBecome involved in, and contribute to, the improvement of the College and its community through such services as sponsorship of forums, seminars, workshops and conferencesParticipate in all College-wide workshops and fall and spring start-up programs unless excused by the Associate Dean of Instruction or VP/Dean of Academic AffairsParticipate in governance committees as assignedOther Duties As Assigned (5%)-Complete other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean of Instruction of the Liberal Arts and Professional Studies Division

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution and actively pursuing graduate study in NursingActive, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in NY, or eligibility for licensureMinimum of two years recent nursing experienceDemonstrated ability or strong potential to teach both didactic and clinical coursesRecent work experience in a healthcare setting with maintenance of clinical competencyPreferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN)Teaching experience in an Associate Degree or pre-licensure nursing programClinical experience in medical-surgical, behavioral health, or pharmacology related nursing practiceExperience with simulation and skills labAdditional Information: VISA Sponsorship is not currently offered for this positionEmployment offers are contingent upon successful completion of a background checkVerification of official college transcript is required for this positionStarting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including, but not limited to relevant experience, education, market demands, and training.
