Maintenance Mechanic
We are seeking a skilled Packaging Mechanic to join a leading manufacturing team in Hauppauge, New York. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing packaging equipment to support efficient production operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with automated packaging machinery in a regulated manufacturing environment and will ensure all activities comply with cGMP, SOPs, and company safety standards.
salary: $66,560 - $72,800 per yearshift: First
work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM
education: High School Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on packaging equipment such as fillers, cappers, labelers, conveyors, cartoners, and shrink-wrap machines.
- Set up, adjust, and change over packaging equipment for different product runs.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with cGMP , SOPs , and company safety standards.
- Document maintenance activities, equipment adjustments, and repairs in maintenance logs or electronic systems.
- Collaborate with production, quality assurance, and engineering teams to resolve equipment issues.
- Assist with equipment validation, installation, and upgrades as required.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas in accordance with GMP standards.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to reduce downtime and increase efficiency.
