What is a Project Manager – Mobile Field Services?
Under general supervision, the Project Manager is responsible for supporting all activities related to the scheduling, dispatching, and completion of field service orders. Specifically, this individual will focus on maintaining the Company’s mobile workforce management solution (Oracle MWM or subsequent system). This will include serving as the first line of response when there are issues that cannot be quickly addressed by the help desk. There will be regular interaction with our field employees and managers, Contact Center personnel, Central Dispatch, IT team, and software vendors. The position will also provide backup system support and troubleshooting for the SAP customer information and billing system relating to the creation, updating, and completion of field service orders. The Project Manager-Mobile Field Services will report to the Senior Director Customer Field Services.
What does a Project Manager – Mobile Field Services do?
»Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) during the development, implementation, and support stages of projects involving our mobile workforce management (MWM) initiative
»Will lead the review, analysis, selection, and implementation of the next mobile workforce management application.
»Works with the Sr. Program Manager SAP DM/WM to monitor, analyze and troubleshoot data transfer and integrations between our mobile workforce management (MWM) system and the SAP customer information and billing system
»Analyzes and evaluates current field services operating practices and conditions and recommends improvements
»Plans, develops, coordinates, recommends, administers, and/or manages specific Customer Services Group programs, projects, initiatives, and activities related to safety, performance, and efficiency
»Works with supervision in the Customer Service Group to develop and/or monitor the group's productivity and when indicated, generates reports and recommendations to Customer Services management to enhance the productivity and efficiency of the group
»Provides staff support to Customer Services for field service activities in the areas of quality, safety, operations, methods, and procedures
»As a member of the Customer Services Team, accepts one or more functions during gas and/or electric emergency preparation and response
»Maintains Mobile System Integrity by cultivation of positive working relationship with mobile system Vendor and their designated support team. This is inclusive of but not limited to early knowledge and planning for required security updates, patches, upgrades, and new enhancement products that complement the mobile system.
»Attendance may be required at vendor training classes and or conferences for best practices and benchmarking pertaining to Mobile Workforce systems.
What does it take to be a Project Manager – Mobile Field Services?
Required:
»Associate degree in Operations Management, Logistics Management, Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field of study.
»Strong analytical expertise to operate, develop and maintain software systems, diagnose problems, and provide solutions
»Strong interpersonal expertise for interaction with Customer Services field and managery staff
»Strong attention to detail
»Valid driver’s license
Preferred:
»Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Logistics Management, Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field of study.
»Established knowledge of Oracle Mobile Workforce Management and/or other work field management and emergency management systems
» practice in testing software applications and database management
»Gas and/or electric utility operation knowledge
»Project management practice
