Registered Nurse,

This role is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in a psychiatric unit, responsible for providing direct patient care, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, and maintaining accurate medical records. The RN will conduct patient assessments, administer medications, develop treatment plans, and ensure a safe environment. Administrative duties include documentation, answering phones, and completing progress notes.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients and relatives.
- Plan and provide nursing care for patients.
- Make nursing diagnoses of patients' medical and emotional status and recommend treatment options.
- Consult with psychiatrists and other behavioral health staff on treatment plans.
- Administer psychotropic drugs and other medications and note reactions.
- Arrange further medical attention when necessary.
- Assist clients in understanding their emotional disturbances and accepting treatment.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and secure environment for staff and patients.
- Monitor vital signs, including pain assessment, and administer pain treatments.
- Document all patient information on medical charts and follow physician's orders.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Maintain accurate records of patient treatments, immunizations, and lab results.
- Perform administrative tasks such as filing, answering phones, typing, and completing progress notes.
- Provide courteous, high-quality service to patients and the public.

Required Skills & Certifications:

- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York.
- Minimum two years of experience as an RN.
- BLS Certification (American Heart Association only).
- CPI Blue Card Certification.
