**Job Summary:**
The Companion Aide provides companionship and assistance to clients in their homes or designated care environments. The ideal candidate will possess a warm and friendly demeanor, strong interpersonal skills, and a genuine desire to help others. This role involves supporting clients with daily activities, enhancing their quality of life, and ensuring their comfort and safety.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including but not limited to, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and medication reminders.
- Engage clients in social and recreational activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Help clients with mobility, transfers, and orientation within their living space.
- Monitor clients’ physical and emotional conditions and report any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by following hygiene and safety protocols.
- Document services provided and progress notes as required by organization policies.
- Build trusting relationships with clients and their families, ensuring open communication.
- Adhere to confidentiality and respect clients' privacy and dignity.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance caregiving skills.

**Qualifications:**

- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications (CNA, HHA, etc.) are a plus.
- Previous experience in a caregiving role or in a similar position is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a compassionate nature.
- Ability to follow care plans and adhere to safety protocols.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license, if applicable.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

**Physical Requirements:**

- Ability to lift and support clients as needed, which may include transporting them or assisting with mobility.
- Capability to perform light housekeeping tasks and cooking.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and engage in physical activities for extended periods.
