Are you passionate about working with children and families? NYTPS is looking for part-time, bilingual ABA Parent Trainers to support our expanding Behavioral Support Programs in Nassau and Suffolk counties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide guidance and support to parents of children with autism or other developmental disabilities.
• Help children with autism or developmental disabilities achieve their personal goals.
• Teach parents effective strategies for managing challenging behaviors and promoting positive behaviors.
• Ensure the safety, dignity, health, and well-being of each child at all times.
• Monitor and evaluate children’s progress and the effectiveness of training programs.
• Provide regular feedback to parents and adjust the training program as necessary.
• Collaborate with other professionals involved in the child’s care.
• Offer emotional support and guidance to parents.
• Record and evaluate data, working with the team on necessary adjustments and progress monitoring.
• Implement programs covering social skills, functional communication, motor skills (both gross and fine), functional living skills, and behavior management.

Position Requirements:

• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job and work in various settings.
• Competency in behavior management, skill instruction, communication (oral & written), and organizational skills.
• Energetic, creative, intuitive, and passionate about working with children and their families to help them reach their full potential.
• Experience working with children with autism or other developmental disabilities and their families.
• Reliable transportation.

Qualifications:

• Master's Degree or BCBA Certification
• Bilingual (Spanish) – REQUIRED
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with ABA principles and intervention strategies.
• Experience working with parents and families of children on the autism spectrum and other developmental disabilities.
• Experience with children ages 2-21 on the autism spectrum and/or with other developmental disabilities.

Compensation:

• Pay Range: $45-$65 per hour
• Job Type: Part-time (1099 Independent Contractor)
• Shifts: Daytime, Afternoon, and Evening Hours Available
