Experienced Front of House Manager for Rooftop and Living Room

About Us

Seahorse NYC, located at 201 Park Avenue South, is a premier dining destination within the boutique Mercer Street Hospitality (MSH) group. We operate as one of three distinct venues at the W Hotel: our signature restaurant, a cocktail lounge, and a rooftop venue that serves over 100 covers during peak service. We are committed to excellence in service and providing a genuine growth path for hospitality professionals.

The Role

We are seeking professional and energetic front of house managers to join our team. This role is central to the guest experience. You will manage the flow of one of the venues, coordinate with the General Manager and your other team members, and ensure every guest receives a warm and best experience.

Qualifications and Responsibilities:

Rooftop Manager

High-energy, high-volume

As our Rooftop Manager, you’ll oversee the rooftop space located at the W Hotel.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Drive high-volume floor operations, guest satisfaction, and team workflow.
    • Oversee event execution, floor seating, and outdoor safety protocols.
    • Lead, train, and motivate a large front-of-house team.

Living Room Manager

Cozy luxury, curated cocktails, and personalized hospitality.

As our Living Room Manager, you’ll curate the vibe for our cocktail lounge located above Seahorse, the restaurant 

We are seeking someone who can create a warm, polished, and intimate atmosphere.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Oversee daily lounge operations, beverage presentation, and atmosphere control (lighting, sound, seating).
    • Build strong relationships with regular guests and VIPs.
    • Train staff on elevated service standards and menu knowledge.

Qualifications 

  • A minimum of 3+ years of hospitality management experience in a high-volume restaurant, rooftop, hotel, or lounge setting.
  • a fast-paced, high-volume, fine dining, or casual fine dining restaurant.
  • An unparalleled commitment to hospitality and customer service.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to motivate and manage staff.
  • Sound knowledge of service and food.
  • Ability to think critically and make sound decisions in a high-pressure work
  • environment.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills, and the ability to multitask.
  • Have NYC DOH and TIPS certification.
  • Willingness to grow and learn.
  • Assist with wine service.
  • Bartending knowledge
  • Assist with the running of the beverage program.
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for mentoring and inspiring a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the GM and management team to oversee daily front-of-house restaurant operations.
  • Must be able to work Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner shifts (Open Schedule)
  • Open and close the restaurant and complete accompanying tasks efficiently, accurately, and with a keen eye for detail.
  • Handle service opportunities in a personal and timely manner.
  • Drive high-volume floor operations, guest satisfaction, and team workflow.
