Sterile Processing Technician (Travel Contract)

Location: Syracuse, NY

Duration: 14 Weeks

Shift: Monday – Friday | 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Pay Rate: $25 – $30 per hour

Position Summary

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to support hospital operations by ensuring the proper decontamination, sterilization, assembly, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment. This role is critical in maintaining infection control standards and supporting safe, high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, package, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment

• Operate sterilization equipment (steam, EtO, and other systems) in accordance with manufacturer guidelines

• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of sterilization processes

• Monitor biological and chemical indicators to ensure quality assurance compliance

• Manage inventory and maintain adequate supply levels for surgical services

• Follow established infection prevention, safety, and regulatory protocols

• Collaborate with surgical and clinical teams to ensure timely case cart preparation

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• CRCST certification preferred (or ability to obtain within designated timeframe)

• Minimum of 1 year sterile processing experience preferred

• Knowledge of sterilization standards and infection control best practices

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift instrument trays as needed
