As the Manager, Billing Operations you will be integral to the success of our Benefits Billing Operations team. You will help the team grow through validation and reconciliation of reporting from our insurance carriers and will be responsible for working with our Benefits Administration, Product, Engineering, and Finance teams to provide new and existing customers with an incredible Benefits experience. You will also help identify trends and areas for improvement, and have the opportunity to implement new procedures. Your Success Profile What You Will Work On- Manage a team of 3-5 professionals who are responsible for resolving benefit billing related issues, invoicing and reconciliations
- Oversee day-to-day team billing operations including:
- Manage high-level financial issues with our Partners
- Forecast and plan future volume and program growth to allow for volume of inquiries and issue resolutions to scale with Justworks’ growth
- Supervise monthly, quarterly, and yearly audits, ensuring accurate reconciliations and reporting
- Establish and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and service level agreements (SLAs) between Billing Operations and insurance partners
- Audit billing reconciliations and reporting to evaluate accuracy of work
- Develop new procedures for partner billing where not currently established
- Identify areas for improvement in operational processes to ensure their scalability and simplicity
- Initiate and oversee implementation of operational automations to streamline auditing efficiencies
- Maintain internal resource center regarding billing for each of Justworks insurance offerings
- Handle general management responsibilities including (but not limited to):
- Foster a collaborative and performance-driven environment by supporting team members in identifying areas of improvement and creating tailored development plans for each employee.
- Provide regular feedback and conducting timely performance reviews
- Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and quality of the team’s work
- Hold regular 1-on-1s and leading team meetings
- Approve timecards and PTO
- Maintain working relationship between Billing Operations and Finance through regular check-ins and other established communications channels
- Work cross-functionally with Product and Engineering teams to oversee projects that address bug issues, incidents, tooling enhancements, and the scaling and growth of new products.
- Inform stakeholders of changes to benefit offerings and/or relevant processes and procedures

- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in operations, accounting, billing or healthcare revenue related fields
- Minimum of 2 years of people and team management experience
- Strong background in account reconciliation and/or accounts receivable required
- Knowledge of benefit plans strongly preferred
- Intermediate or advanced knowledge of Excel required
- Strong project management and execution skills
- Relationship management experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Extremely detail-oriented with great time management skills
- Experience working in a fast-paced, data-driven environment
- Knowledge of SQL preferred
