Job Summary
The Lally School of Management at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute seeks applications for a tenure-track faculty position starting Fall 2023, at the adjunct or Associate Professor level, from scholars who work in areas at the cutting edge of financial technology as it pertains to the digital transformation of the financial services industry.


Candidates must have a PhD degree in a significant business discipline from an accredited university along with demonstrated evidence to produce original and innovative scholarly work with publications in premier business journals. All candidates must demonstrate evidence of effective teaching. The prosperous candidate will join the School either as a tenure-track adjunct Professor, or as an Associate Professor, located on teaching and research practice and success. Candidates for Associate Professor as also expected to demonstrate a national or international record of academic, scholarly and/or research recognition, as typically achieved through five (5) or more years in a tenure track position The prosperous candidate will have a demonstrated potential and commitment to effective teaching in our graduate and undergraduate courses in basic and advanced topics in analytics for finance and accounting, as well as provide service to the School of Management and to Rensselaer.


The areas of research interest include, but not limited to, analytics, AI and machine learning in finance and accounting, natural language processing, cryptography, blockchains in finance, robo-advising, quantitative asset management, marketplace lending, parametric insurance, audit analytics, fraud detection, privacy issues related to financial data, open architectures in banking and insurance, and compliance and regulation of financial technology. practice in and deep expertise about the financial services industry would be a plus. Familiarity with unique fintech datasets or experimental platforms would also be a plus.


We are expanding Lally School's renowned quantitative finance teaching and research portfolios, as well as the technical collaboration of the NSF-funded Center for Research toward Advancing Financial Technology (CRAFT) with the Institute's constellations on AI and ML through financial technology applications. The School provides an intellectually stimulating and collaborative environment for inter-disciplinary scholarly contributions with support for research, teaching, and service. We are pursuing an outstanding candidate who is driven and willing to engage with the vibrant, diverse and inclusive cross-disciplinary research community at Rensselaer.
