Manager - Distribution Engineering SPEAR

Required Education/Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and minimum of 8 years of related work experience including experience in a managerial role. or

• Master's Degree in Engineering and minimum of 6 years of related work experience including experience in a managerial role.

Preferred Education/Experience

• Master's Degree in Engineering and minimum of 6 years of related work experience including experience in a managerial role.

Relevant Work Experience

• Must have an understanding of Electrical Engineering concepts as applied to the Utility Industry, required.

• Must have strong organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills, required.

• Must be comfortable working in a highly collaborative environment and working with teams performing lab testing, required.

• Must be able to prepare and review standards as required, perform inspections of existing secondary distribution systems, develop low voltage specifications, and test procedures, required.

• Must be competent in formulating system improvements and problem solving, required.

• Familiarity with electrical systems, required.

• Familiarity of with PSC Order adopting Electric Safety Standards, preferred.

• Hands on experience programming or coding on one or more platforms, preferred.

• Experience writing scripts, preferred.

• Experience working on SQL server, preferred.

• Be able to develop project budgets and schedules, preferred.

• Be able to review, design drawings and specifications for distribution installations, preferred.

• Experience implementing or modifying electronics equipment, preferred.

• Familiarity with low voltage distribution assets (metering equipment, cable systems), preferred.

Skills and Abilities

• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, etc.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Well organized, detail oriented and flexible to handle multiple assignments

• Ability to drive multiple projects to successful completion

• Demonstrated problem solving skills

• The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
