Construction Manager - Education Facilities

Albany, NY
Cities & Places At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.

Your impact

At Jacobs, we partner with school districts, colleges, and universities to deliver learning environments that support students, faculty, and communities. From new school construction, additions and renovations to major campus upgrades, our PM/CM teams bring educational visions to life, safely, efficiently, and with a focus on long term value. You’ll join a company where your experiences can directly influence the quality of tomorrow’s learning environments.

We’re seeking an experienced, collaborative Construction Manager who excels at aligning teams, driving progress, and delivering projects on time and within budget. Based at a client site in the NYS Capital Region, you’ll report to the Program or Regional Manager and work with a team of management level professionals. In this client facing role, you’ll provide expert construction oversight, proactively resolving issues, disputes, and challenges as they arise. As the onsite Owner’s Representative, you’ll ensure the project’s technical performance, schedule, scope, materials management, contract compliance, and overall safety standards remain on track.

Key responsibilities include managing consultant invoice reviews, contractor payment applications, and change orders, while coordinating closely with the Controls Manager to ensure accurate reporting. You’ll regularly review project status, analyze schedule and cost variances, and keep stakeholders informed with clear, timely updates.

By applying proven project management techniques, you’ll streamline project delivery, reduce costs, and create measurable value. Your strong communication skills, ability to manage multiple priorities, and proactive problem solving approach will position you for success in our fast paced, mission driven environment.

At Jacobs, you’ll contribute to both quick turn, fast moving projects and larger, long range capital initiatives, giving you meaningful opportunities to grow, evolve, and make a lasting impact on our education clients.
