Location: Buffalo, NY

Contract: 12 months with potential for extension or direct hire

Must be willing to support all 3 shift and a rotating weekend schedule. Will be placed on 1 shift for long term, but need flexibility to take over another shift if need be.

Compensation: $45-49/hour, PTO and optional benefits available.

Role Overview

This Maintenance Supervisor role is a hands-on leadership position supporting a high-precision automotive manufacturing environment producing Ecotec and V8 engines. The supervisor is responsible for leading frontline maintenance leaders and skilled trades, ensuring equipment uptime, safety, quality, and responsiveness across CNC-driven operations.

This is not a desk job. You’ll be reviewing shift handoffs, managing downtime, troubleshooting CNC equipment, and leading teams through real-time manufacturing issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support 10–15 maintenance leaders across mechanical and electrical trades
• Review prior-shift handoff notes, hour-by-hour boards, and downtime reports
• Troubleshoot and drive root-cause resolution on CNC and automated manufacturing equipment
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, audit, and housekeeping standards
• Support plant goals across Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, and Cost (SPQRC)
• Coordinate and oversee planned and unplanned maintenance activities
• Supervise maintenance and construction projects within budget and timing constraints
• Train, develop, and evaluate maintenance personnel
• Work closely with mechanical and electrical repair teams to restore and improve equipment performance
• Partner with manufacturing, engineering, and leadership teams to resolve production issues
• Ensure compliance with labor agreements and corporate policies

Required Qualifications (Updated per Intake Notes)

Education (Required):

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree required
• Technical, Engineering, or Technology degree strongly preferred

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in automotive manufacturing
• Prior supervisory or supervisory-assist experience required
• Experience leading teams of 10–15 people
• UAW environment experience preferred , not required

Technical Background:

• Strong electrical and mechanical fundamentals
• Experience supporting industrial or manufacturing operations
• CNC equipment exposure is a significant advantage

Work Environment & Schedule

• Onsite, hands-on manufacturing floor environment
• Non-rotating shift assigned after start (facility operates 24/7)
• Weekend work required (2 out of 3 weekends)
• Overtime expected
• Physical Fitness for Work (FFW) clearance required
