Our client is a multi-disciplinary MEP engineering firm specializing in delivering innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective design solutions for commercial, institutional, healthcare, and industrial projects is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the growing team in a full-time permanent staff capacity to contribute to the design and coordination of building HVAC and/or Plumbing systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop HVAC and plumbing system designs, including load calculations, equipment selection, ductwork/piping layouts, and system sizing.
• Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and construction documents using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Perform energy code and building code compliance checks.
• Conduct site visits, field surveys, and construction inspections to verify installations.
• Collaborate closely with architects, electrical engineers, structural engineers, and contractors to ensure coordinated MEP designs.
• Support project managers in meeting deliverables, budgets, and schedules.
• Assist in preparing proposals, cost estimates, and technical reports.
• Provide guidance to junior engineers and designers; review and check their work.
• Stay current with industry standards, codes, and emerging technologies.
• Participate in design meetings with clients and stakeholders.
• Respond to RFIs, review shop drawings, and resolve technical issues during construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 4–8 years of experience in HVAC and/or plumbing system design within an MEP consulting or design/build environment.
• EIT required; PE license (or ability to obtain within 1–2 years) preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
• Familiarity with energy modeling software (e.g., Trane Trace, Carrier HAP) is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and standards: IMC, IPC, ASHRAE, NFPA, IECC.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently while also thriving in a collaborative team environment.
