Google Cloud Network Engineer

Role Overview We are seeking a senior and experienced Google Cloud Operations Engineering Lead to help design, establish, and operate our Google Cloud environment. The enterprise is currently migrating from AWS to Google Cloud, and this role will be critical in standing up Google Cloud Operations, embedding leading practices, and ensuring the platform is operated at the highest standards of reliability, security, and performance.

• Lead the setup and maturation of Google Cloud Operations during and after the migration from AWS.
• Define and implement operational standards, policies, and runbooks for Google Cloud Platform environments.
• Drive incident management, monitoring, observability, and service reliability practices.
• Partner with architecture, migration, and security teams to ensure smooth transition and alignment with enterprise goals.
• Establish automation practices for deployment, scaling, patching, and compliance.
• Build and mentor a high-performing operations team, instilling best-in-class DevOps and SRE practices.
• Manage stakeholder relationships across engineering, product, and business functions to ensure operational excellence.

• 10+ years of experience in Cloud Operations or Site Reliability Engineering, with at least 3+ years in leadership roles.
• Proven expertise in Google Cloud Platform, including core services such as Compute Engine, GKE, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, IAM, and networking.
• Hands-on experience operating workloads in AWS and leading migrations to Google Cloud Platform.
• Deep knowledge of infrastructure as code, automation, CI/CD pipelines, and configuration management (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, GitOps).
• Strong background in monitoring and observability (e.g., Stackdriver, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Solid understanding of security, compliance, and governance in cloud environments.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience in hybrid or multi-cloud operating models.
• Familiarity with SRE principles (SLIs, SLOs, error budgets).
• Experience in regulated industries with high security and compliance requirements.

• A resilient and well-structured Google Cloud operations function is established within the first year.
• Migration from AWS to Google Cloud Platform is supported smoothly with minimal disruption.
• The team operates with modern automation-first practices and high reliability standards.
• Business stakeholders trust the platform as secure, scalable, and fit-for-purpose.
