How do you excel in this position
The Service Technician is responsible for preventative maintenance, inspections, start-ups, upgrades, repairs, troubleshooting, and safe operation of applicable equipment and associated system components to meet the intent of the project/service call requirements.
What are we looking for:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of related experience, or the equivalent combination of education (technical school) and experience.
- Experience in the construction or HVAC industry required including, but not limited to boilers, burners, combustion controls, psychometrics, and clean, dry refrigeration piping systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems and other building subsystems.
- Knowledge of HVAC&R theory, solid mechanical, electrical troubleshooting and repair skills required.
- Knowledgeable in the use of VOM Meters, Refrigerant tools, torches, Brazing and soldering required.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, mechanical layouts and blueprints required.
- Ability to communicate with customers and coworkers regarding inspection and service findings is required.
- Must have or be able to obtain EPA CFC Certification- Universal.
- Be highly motivated and an independent thinker.
- Must be able to thrive in a fast pace setting and adapt/be flexible in a changing environment.
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.
- Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software and working proficiency with handheld devices, such as Smartphones, iPads, etc.
- Must have current (within 5 years) or be able to obtain 10-hour OSHA certification. 30-hour OSHA is a plus.
- Valid driver's license.
- Participate in on-call rotation.
- Travel required. Must be able to travel to job sites 100% of the time. Also included is travel to manufacturers for training and office meetings.
