Med/Surg RN Job Details – Utica, NY

• Location: Utica, NY 13502 (Central New York healthcare jobs)
• Unit: Medical/Surgical – Stroke Stepdown Unit (7th Floor, 64 beds)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (10/27/2025 – 1/24/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour days (6:30am – 7:00pm)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shifts per Week: 3 shifts per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2,110 - $2,170 per week
• Employment Type: Locum tenens, travel RN contract
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license (verified via NURSYS)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Stroke Stepdown RN experience
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Current AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR
• Two recent Med/Surg Charge/Manager RN references
• Completed skills checklist for Med/Surg or Stroke Stepdown specialty
• Valid driver’s license with matching address
• Ability to float to other units as needed

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients with stroke, altered mental status, renal/dialysis, COPD, CHF, pneumonia, and other med/surg diagnoses
• Operate and manage specialty equipment including IV pumps, N/G tubes, and feeding tubes
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Accurately document patient care and progress in EPIC EMR
• Float to additional units as required to support patient care needs
• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment for patients and staff
