Service Technician II/III
Summary
As a Service Technician with our client, you will play a key role in delivering, installing, and servicing our rental HVAC equipment while ensuring top-tier customer service. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to safety, and a willingness to learn and grow within the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the delivery, installation, and servicing of rental equipment.
- Process customer orders received from sales or branch management, ensuring timely fulfillment and accurate documentation.
- Deliver exceptional service to customers that fosters repeat business and long-term relationships.
- Install heating equipment, connect units to natural gas or propane sources , and set up temporary flexible ductwork.
- Use appropriate PPE and fall protection to maintain a safe working environment.
- Perform initial equipment startups, service repairs, and retrieval of rental equipment at job completion.
- Recondition and document returned equipment per company procedures, ensuring proper storage in the branch warehouse.
- Higher-level technicians will:
- Clean, troubleshoot, and repair air-cooled chillers and large tonnage HVAC systems .
- Diagnose refrigerant circuit issues.
- Support large-scale installations.
Qualifications
- Experience: 0 5 years of relevant HVAC, mechanical, or service experience.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; 2-year HVAC certificate or Universal Refrigeration Certificate preferred for advanced technician roles.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with MRP or rental software a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and eagerness to learn.
- Licensing & Screening:
- Must pass a DOT physical and drug test to operate company vehicles.
- Valid driver's license with satisfactory MVR.
- Background check required prior to employment.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to safely lift/move up to 50 lbs. and perform work requiring climbing, bending, and lifting.
- Soft Skills: Strong customer service orientation, effective communication skills, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Work Schedule
- Full-time role with overtime and double-time opportunities for applicable hours worked.
- Participation in a rotating on-call schedule , including evenings, weekends, and holidays during peak seasons.
- Travel may be required depending on branch needs.
