Position Title: Registered Nurse - Critical Care - Float

Location: Utica, NY

Job Type: Contract (Local or Travel options available)

Shift: Day Shift, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (combination of 8- or 10-hour shifts depending on unit needs)

Duration: 13 weeks

Hourly Pay: $55/hr

Weekly Pay: $1,897.50/week

Position Overview:

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking Registered Nurse - Critical Care for an exciting Travel or Local job in Utica , NY.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor complex, rapidly changing conditions.

• Administer and titrate critical medications, including vasoactive drips, sedatives, and analgesics, per provider orders and hospital protocols.

• Manage ventilators, invasive lines (central lines, arterial lines), and other advanced medical equipment.

• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.

• Document all patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and promptly in the EMR.

• Respond to life-threatening emergencies, including CPR and code team participation.

• Float between various critical care units based on staffing and patient acuity, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.

• Ensure adherence to infection control standards, patient safety policies, and hospital protocols.

• Provide emotional support and education to patients and families regarding critical illness, procedures, and recovery.

• Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development activities.

Qualifications:

• Active New York State RN license

• BLS and ACLS certification (AHA required)

• Minimum 1 year of recent Critical Care (ICU, CCU, or Step-Down) experience

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program

• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and critical thinking skills

• Proficiency with EMR systems preferred
