The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

Role Purpose

The IT Support Technician will handle incoming service requests and incidents related to computer systems, software, hardware, and infrastructure. This includes support for Microsoft-based applications (Windows 7/10/11, MS Office 2010–O365), Active Directory, network connectivity, and various enterprise tools. The role also includes hands-on support for IT infrastructure, conference room technology, device imaging, and smart-hands tasks for other IT teams.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support & Troubleshooting

• Provide on-site and remote support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows OS, Microsoft Office, VPN, antivirus, and various software packages.
• Support for Active Directory administration.
• Utilize ServiceNow for ticket management and documentation.

Infrastructure & Smart Hands

• Perform hardware installations, imaging, deployment, and lifecycle management.
• Execute smart-hands tasks such as patching cables, server reboots, rack/stack/cabling, and vendor escorting.
• Provide remote console access and assist with IT equipment moves and installations.

Collaboration & Project Support

• • Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams and vendors.
  • Participate in IT projects, onboarding/training of new hires, and documentation management.
  • Engage in customer scheduling, follow-ups, and end-user support.

Experiences/Education - Required

• Associate degree in Information Technology or 2+ years of experience in an IT support related role.
• Proficiency with Windows OS, Microsoft Office suites, and basic networking concepts.
• Strong time management, organizational, and communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Availability for 24/7 on-call support as part of a weekly team rotation

Experiences/Education - Desired

• Experience with Active Directory, deployment servers, and imaging tools.
• Familiarity with Cisco VPN, cloud applications (Microsoft and 3rd party), and IP telephony.
• Knowledge of antivirus remediation, browser support, and security software.
• Basic smart-hands/network configuration knowledge.

The range for this position is $48,691.00 - $66,951.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
