POSITION OVERVIEW

Northern Rivers Family of Services is seeking Registered Nurses who will provide quality care for Behavioral Health clients



REGISTERED NURSE - BEHAVIORAL HEALTH



POSITION SUMMARY
this job offer performs tasks of a nurse as part of the behavioral health teams.You will work with a team of dedicated professionals providing care and treatment to Behavioral Health clients. As an RN on staff, you should feel comfortable communicating with families, providers, and social workers in order to meet the needs of this population. The position provides integral services to clients to ensure continuity of care and is a vital function in our interdisciplinary team.

ESSENTIAL tasks AND RESPONSIBILITIES

»Conduct vital signs and first aid as directed by prescribers

»Administer medication injections as prescribed

»Assess and report for medication efficacy for prescriber

»Triage calls for medication prescriber

»Coordinate care with community providers for continuity of care

»Prepare prescription refill and respond to client medication phone calls

»Check state registry for controlled medication prescribing history as indicated by NYS Law

»Prepare and obtain medication preauthorization as needed

»Provide cross coverage to other sites as needed

» knowledge of and/or interest in Trauma-Informed Care practices



EDUCATION and/or practice

»Requires an AAS degree



Qualifications

»Requires NYS professional certification as a Registered Nurse (RN)

» capability to complete and pass full background check
