Litigation Partner
Coverage work at this level is genuinely strategic. You're not supporting a partner's analysis, you're the one advising carriers, developing the coverage position, and seeing matters through litigation.

The firm has deep roots in insurance defense, coverage litigation, and complex civil matters, with an active and well-regarded coverage practice serving carrier clients across multiple jurisdictions. Known for competitive compensation, a collaborative structure, and a serious book of work.
The preference for location is New York. However, this role is open to candidates working hybrid from any office location within the firm.
You'll advise insurance carriers on complex coverage matters, handle declaratory judgment actions and bad faith litigation, and operate with genuine autonomy across the full lifecycle of coverage disputes.
What You'll Do
- Advise insurance carriers on third-party coverage issues across a wide range of policy types and claim scenarios
- Handle declaratory judgment actions and bad faith claims from inception through resolution
- Draft coverage opinions, pleadings, written discovery, and dispositive motions
- Take and defend depositions of parties, fact witnesses, and expert witnesses
- Participate in arbitrations and trials
- Lead strategic case planning and risk assessment on complex coverage matters
- Conduct comprehensive legal research to develop and execute sound coverage strategies
- Manage client relationships with regular, substantive updates on case status and strategy
- Manage caseload within billing and budget parameters
- Collaborate with partners, associates, and legal staff across the firm's network
- Travel as needed for court appearances, client meetings, and depositions
What You'll Need
- J. xrczosw D. from an ABA-accredited law school
- 7+ years of experience in third-party insurance coverage law
- Active bar admission in any state where the firm maintains an office
- Proven courtroom experience: depositions, hearings, arbitrations, and/or trials
- Strong drafting skills across coverage opinions, motions, and litigation documents
- Excellent communication skills with sophisticated carrier clients and opposing counsel
- Ability to manage a complex docket independently while meeting billing expectations
- Willingness to travel for court, client, and matter-related commitments

- Salary range: $180,000 – $200,000 (commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity)
