Material Planner Buyer

Material Planner Buyer Location Plattsburgh, NY : Description:

Using MRP Purchasing experience, the Material Planner/Buyer will help maintain supply inventory levels and handle vendor negotiations. The Material Planner/Buyer will work within the company's purchasing policies and procedures and on cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and implement effective negotiation tactics
• Review and maintain purchasing agreements with vendors
• Assess supplier profiles and analyze and compare multiple quotations
• Measure supplier performance based on quality, service and deliveries
• Determine optimal stocking quantities based on several factors including sales history, seasonality, input from sales, product experience and knowledge. This analysis will require a strong analytical and common-sense approach.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with vendors
• Develop an active process for measuring supply inventory and determining purchasing needs based on annual numbers
• Compare product deliveries with issued purchase orders, and contact vendors when there are discrepancies
• Participate in or lead product innovation projects

Requirements:

• At least five years' experience in Planning/Purchasing
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Proven history of effective supply management
• Outstanding organizational skills
• A strong analytical mindset
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• BS degree preferred

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base pay offered will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for additional benefits to the base pay range listed above.
