Corporate Vice President & Actuary - ALM & Investment Strategy (Strategy and Special Initiatives)

Business Overview:
The ALM & Investment Strategy Team’s mission at New York Life is to effectively partner with the business, finance, and asset management teams to research, develop, and implement Investment strategies that help meet business and financial objectives. These goals heavily depend on robust models and data.
What You'll Do:
- Collaborate with the Actuarial Services, Business Units, Pricing, Risk, Finance, and OCIO Teams to analyze and manage the company’s ALM profile
- Help develop ALM hedging strategies to optimize NYL balance sheet and earnings profile
- Provide ALM modeling analysis and support for investment and hedging strategies
- Work with the Investment Strategy team to develop pricing and reinvestment baskets in support of new business and inforce management
- Develop frameworks in support of asset liability management
- Support the ALM team leaders in calculating, aggregating and reporting of the NYL General Account ALM position
- Perform periodic reviews of ALM metrics as well as the current methodologies
- Help build and test investment strategies for new and existing products
- Conduct research to support and expand ALM practices
What You'll Bring:
- PF5 level, Strong PF4s will be considered
- 4+ years of experience in life insurance and/or annuities, preferably in ALM or related discipline
- FSA designation in the Society of Actuaries highly desirable
- CFA designation and/or investments experience a plus
- Deep understanding of life insurance and/or annuity financials and modeling results
- Ability to think strategically about ALM and investment strategy
- Strong modeling, analytical, and technical skills
- Prophet experience a plus
- Python coding experience desired
- Strong business partnering skills
- Strong communication (written and oral) skills, drafting and presenting different types of presentations to a wide variety of stakeholders

Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $122,500-$200,000
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
