Position Title: World Language Teacher- Spanish LACS

Brief Description: We are seeking an exceptional World Language Teacher to join our dynamic team. LACS is a unique 6-12 democratic school, where all members of the school community (students, staff and families) are involved in decision making. We value depth over breadth in our project based curriculum. Teachers infuse subject matter they are passionate about and students work to solve authentic problems. Students demonstrate understanding through portfolios and Performance Based Assessment Tasks (an alternative to the NYS Regents exams). A quarterly narrative evaluation protocol provides proficiency feedback. We are a long-time member of the NY Performance Standards Consortium. Teachers build strong relationships with students through multiple roles including facilitating a Family Group (advisory experience), project based experiences, student governance committees and trip experiences.

Required Qualifications:

• All candidates must possess New York State Teacher Certification in World Language, 7-12 or qualify to obtain it by the first date of employment. This requires at least a Bachelor's degree. Licensed teachers from other states may qualify for reciprocity.

Salary Range: $56,918-$119,338 (10-month full-time basis) Based on the 26-27 ITA step and lane salary grid
