Schedule: On-site, Monday - Friday (8am - 5pm)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join our team in a dynamic lighting manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be bilingual in English and Spanish, have hands-on experience with weekly payroll processing, and possess a solid background working with unionized employees. This role requires a proactive professional who can manage day-to-day HR operations while supporting strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly payroll accurately and on time for all employees, including union staff.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage laws and maintain payroll records, resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for union employees, addressing inquiries and ensuring adherence to collective bargaining agreements.
• Assist in grievance handling and support labor negotiations as needed.
• Foster positive employee relations and maintain a respectful workplace culture.
• Administer HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with employment laws and company standards.
• Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, including new hire orientation and exit interviews.
• Maintain accurate employee records in HRIS systems.
• Support recruitment efforts for hourly and salaried positions, including job postings, screening, and interviewing.
• Assist with performance management processes and employee development initiatives.
• Coordinate benefits enrollment and respond to employee inquiries regarding health, dental, and retirement plans.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, FMLA, and other regulatory requirements.
  
  

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of HR experience
• Bachelor's Degree
• Bilingual in Spanish and English
• Experience with payroll processing
• Experience with unionized employees
• Knowledge of HR policies and employment laws
  
  

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• SHRM certification
• Experience with HRIS systems
• Strong employee relations skills
  
  

Work Environment

The role operates in an office environment with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. The work culture encourages growth and taking on more responsibilities, with a supportive team that includes tenured staff, some with over 40 years of experience. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Stony Point, NY.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $38.46/hr.
