Psychiatric LPN
13 Week contract
3x 12 hours a week
Day shift
MUST HAVE 1 YEAR OF CHILD AND ADULT PSYCH EXPERIENCE
EOW and some holidays required
Responsibilities:
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor patients for side effects or responses.
- Assist in developing and implementing individualized care plans.
- Observe and document patients’ behavior, mood, and progress.
- Provide therapeutic communication to support patients through emotional or psychiatric distress.
- Respond to psychiatric emergencies and help maintain a safe environment.
- Educate patients and families about treatments, coping strategies, and medication management.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care.
Skills and Qualities:
- Strong communication and observation skills
- Empathy and emotional resilience
- Ability to de-escalate conflicts and manage challenging behavior
- Knowledge of psychotropic medications and mental health conditions
- Teamwork and adaptability in high-stress settings
