About Savory
Savory is a full-service, boutique hospitality firm on a mission to elevate the corporate dining experience, making it fresher and more reliable with a focus on quality food experiences and hospitality excellence.
At Savory, we have a common thread that resonates through everything we do: PASSION! We are passionate about the creation of our menus, where our food comes from, and, most importantly, we’re passionate about our people and the hospitality we show to our clients, our vendors, and each other. Our rapid growth has prompted us to seek qualified individuals who will add a positive impact to our team and help shape the future of Savory.
About the role
We are seeking a motivated Porter to join the team at Savory Hospitality at one of our onsite business dining spaces. Our Porters contribute to an exceptional onsite dining experience by transporting and cleaning cooking utensils and other service ware, as well as maintaining clean work areas and culinary equipment.
Our ideal candidate is great at managing multiple priorities and thrives in a fast-paced environment. With special attention to the details, you care about performing quality work and overall contributing to a friendly and productive team atmosphere.
Savory’s business dining experiences are one of our unique services that offer team members the experience of working alongside the Savory team as well as directly interfacing with our onsite client on a day-to-day basis.
This role is a key addition to our growing team. Here are some examples of the primary responsibilities of our onsite Porters:
- Wash pots, pans, and trays and polish silver
- Segregate and remove trash and place it in the designated containers
- Sweep and mop floors; wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, and all other surface areas
- Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas; restock tools and supplies for the next shift
- Walk the floors and pick up any room service/bar trays
- Maintain temperature logs; keep walk-in cooler/freezer organized
- Bus tables
- Help line cooks properly prep, store, and date food
- Receive orders from Savory HQ and follow all protocols for checking and stocking delivered items
What we’re looking for
At Savory, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We’re a tight-knit team of passionate, innovative culinarians who strive to live our values every day: authenticity, curiosity, collaboration, solutions, and community.
Your experience should show us the following:
- Previous knowledge of food service regulations preferred
- Skilled with the use of hand tools or machines needed for the position
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Prioritization, organization, and management of multiple tasks
Job requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, or pull up to 50 pounds
- Ability to maintain a stationary position, often standing for prolonged periods of time
- Flexible availability including early mornings, days, evenings, and holidays, dependent on our event schedule and season
In addition to a growth-focused, positive work environment, our talented team enjoys:
- Competitive hourly rate ($18.00), commensurate with experience
- Company-sponsored medical plans, including health, dental, and vision insurance for all full-time employees after 90 days of service
- Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and transit enrollment
