The Role – Senior Cost Manager
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Cost Manager to join a fast-growing consultancy with a strong project pipeline and clear leadership opportunities. You’ll lead the commercial delivery of major projects while acting as a trusted advisor to high-profile clients across sectors including data centers, technology, and advanced manufacturing.
The successful candidate will take ownership of projects from inception through to close out, managing both client relationships and internal project teams while driving best-in-class cost management delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
•Lead the preparation and delivery of Order of Cost Estimates, detailed Cost Plans, Tender Documents, and Contract Documents.
•Take full ownership of project cost management services across multiple high-value projects.
•Lead cost reporting and financial management processes, including budgets, forecasts, risk management, and cashflow reporting.
•Chair client-facing cost meetings and present commercial updates to senior stakeholders.
•Manage contractor cost submissions, variations, claims, and change management processes.
•Provide strategic commercial advice throughout all phases of project delivery.
•Utilize the company’s cost management platform to monitor project performance and financial reporting.
•Collaborate closely with Project Managers and wider consultant teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
•Oversee monthly valuations, payment applications, and final account negotiations.
•Mentor and develop junior team members, supporting the continued growth of the business.
•Contribute to business development activities and help strengthen existing client relationships.
Minimum Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
•8+ years’ experience in construction cost management or quantity surveying.
•Strong experience delivering projects across both pre- and post-contract phases.
•Proven ability to manage large-scale or complex construction projects independently.
•Experience working within sectors such as data centers, technology, commercial, or manufacturing is highly desirable.
•Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement strategies, and commercial management principles.
•U.S. citizenship, existing/transferable right to work in the U.S., or eligibility for an E2 or E3 visa.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and cost management software.
