Compensation

• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2020 - $2080 per week

Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details

• Location: Rochester, NY 14621 (New York healthcare job)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 10/7/2025 – End: 1/6/2026)
• Shifts: Rotating 12-hour shifts (Day: 07:00–19:00, Night: 19:00–07:00), 36 hours/week
• Setting: Medical Surgical/Telemetry Unit (complex care, ortho overflow, long-term patients)
• Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
• Charting: Epic EMR
• Scrub Color: Navy bottoms, navy or white tops
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
• Floating: Required to Med/Surg units

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand (no exceptions)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Tele RN experience
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Proficiency with Epic charting system
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Travel nursing experience required
• Ability to manage a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7
• Applicants must reside more than 75 miles from the facility

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with complex medical, orthopedic, and long-term needs
• Monitor telemetry and respond to rapid response/code teams
• Manage pacemakers (temporary/permanent), feeding tubes, blood product administration, and central/PICC/peripheral line care
• Perform phlebotomy, start IVs, and manage heparin protocols
• Care for ortho trauma, total joint replacements, surgical drains, and tracheostomies
• Administer oxygen therapies (HFNC, nasal cannula, face masks, portable tanks)
• Implement isolation precautions and wound care/wound vac management
• Float to other Med/Surg units as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, and social services
