Assistant insurance fund services representative claims
The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Schedule depositions by working with case managers, claimant's counsel, Independent Medical Examination (IME) vendors, hearing representatives, medical witnesses, outside counsel, subpoena and stenography vendors, as well as the Workers Compensation Board (WCB). • Draft subpoenas• File affidavits• Log and track depositions• Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed
The minimum qualifications required for this vacancy. Minimum Qualifications • One year of permanent, competitive class service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of Civil Service Law. Eligible titles include, but are not limited to: Administrative Assistant 1, Program Aide, Contract Management Specialist Trainee 1; OR• Four years of customer service experience that required independence in both verbal and written communication responsibilities; OR • Associate degree or higher AND two years of customer service experience that required independence in both verbal and written communication responsibilities.Preferred Qualifications• Working knowledge of Excel and OutlookPlease be advised that the New York State Insurance Fund (NYSIF) does not offer sponsorship for employment visas to employees or potential employees. At a future date, it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State.
