Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to critically ill adult and geriatric patients in the ICU, with ongoing assessment of status and response to treatment.
- Administer and titrate medications and drips, manage ventilator support per protocol, and respond to changes in patient condition.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, interpret monitors and laboratory data, and coordinate escalation with the multidisciplinary team.
- Document care accurately in the electronic medical record, ensure infection control practices, and maintain patient safety and confidentiality.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case management, and family members to develop and implement individualized care plans and discharge planning.
- Demonstrate age-appropriate nursing care across adult and geriatric populations and provide education to patients and families as needed.

Requirements
- Current New York State RN license
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required through the RQI system during clinical orientation
- NIHSS certification
- Basic Coronary Care training within 6 months of hire
- CPI certification within 90 days of hire
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion; effective communication and organization; ability to meet deadlines and work well in a team
- Preferred: Emergency Nurses Association certification within 2 years of hire; TNCC recommended within 2 years of hire
- ICU experience is preferred or strongly considered for travel assignments
