Carpenter (Temporary Position)

Alltype Maintenance Corp. is an interior construction company based in Bronx, NY.

We are a growing subcontracting company looking for reliable, hardworking individuals to join our team. We are seeking experienced production carpenters for apartment rehabs. Must be skilled in cabinet installation, KD door installation, LVT flooring, metal framing, wood trim, and drywall install. Must have your own tools and transportation.

Skilled Job Functions:

• Installs framing, drywall, floors, ceilings, and roofs using materials such as: wood, steel, metal, concrete, plastics, and composites of multiple materials.
• Fits and installs window frames, doors, door frames, door hardware, interior and exterior trim using a carpenter’s level, plumb bob, and laser levels.
• Erects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground levels.
• Studies specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.
• Shapes or cuts materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws.
• Follows established safety rules and regulations and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
• Builds or repairs cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machines, hand tools, or power tools.
• Assembles and fastens materials to make frameworks or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue.
• Removes damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace, using hand tools.
• Inspects ceiling or floor tile, wall coverings, siding, glass, or woodwork to detect broken or damaged structures.
• Moves necessary materials around jobsite as assigned.
• Cleans up worksite debris.

Education & Skills:

1. High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is preferred;

2. Previous related experience in the construction field;

3. Knowledge of materials methods and tools involved in construction;

4. Ability to read, write and do basic mathematical calculations;

5. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing;

6. Ability to use tools and equipment properly and safely;

7. Able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl talk and hear.

8. Vision abilities (with correction) including close, distance, peripheral, depth and the ability to adjust focus;

9. Able to work in all weather conditions;

10. The employee will frequently be required to walk, stand, sit, bend, climb, reach and use hands.

11. The employee will occasionally be required crawl, kneel and lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

Other Requirements:

1. Utilization of personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as required by OSHA. PPE required may include, but not be limited to, face shield, hard-toe safety shoes and coveralls.

2. Must be 18 years of age or older.

3. Must pass pre-employment screening .

4. Minimum current 40-hour Site Safety Training (SST).

5. Minimum current 4-hour supported scaffold user certification is preferred.

Job Type:

Temporary, Full-Time – 40 hours/week

Compensation:

• $35 to $42/Hour depending upon experience
• While there is the possibility of periodic public work opportunities at prevailing rates, the likelihood of such work opportunities cannot be determined at this time
