Position Title: Director Operations Resource Planning
Position Summary:
The Director Operations Resource Planning works for the Vice President Enterprise Planning to define and oversee execution of workforce, staff and resource planning. In addition, the Director serves as the subject matter expert on issues regarding optimal operational efficiency as related to workforce planning. The Director is responsible for maintaining a medium- and long-term strategic view for operational resource needs.
The Director Operations Resource Planning (ORP) is crucial to ensure all staff planning adequately supports a safe and efficient operation. The Director ORP must be capable of daily interaction with people at all levels within JetBlue and must be effective at influencing others without authority. This leader is an executive who must embody the JetBlue’s Values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Fun, and Passion .
Essential Responsibilities:
- Create and manage a Crew Resources Planning process that ensures collaboration with key stakeholders and the optimum procurement and utilization of Flight, Inflight, Tech Ops and Airports crew resources
- Define JetBlue’s Operations resource planning strategy and gain support at all levels of the organization using data, compelling business rationale, and personal influence and credibility
- Partner with the Network Planning’s Route and Schedule Planning teams to conduct the analysis to optimize profitability and operational margins to ensure quality, efficiency and alignment with corporate strategy
- Assist in the development of the annual financial budget for the Flight Operations, Inflight Service, Technical Operations and Airports Departments
- Partner with the Crew Services, Crew Planning, Airports, and Tech Ops Leaders to analyze staffing requirements. Required to also evaluate the effectiveness of crewmember utilization in the execution of monthly plans to drive continuous process and crew efficiency improvements
- Leads the analysis of the impact of block hours, departures, attrition, training, PTO, new regulations and other factors on workforce planning, and defines appropriate staffing levels across the operation, including new hire forecasting.
- Take a significant role in the development of Crewmembers to support the engagement, growth, goal achievement, and development of the succession plan for the department
- Other duties, as assigned
Minimum Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Operations, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or a relevant field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience
- Seven (7) years airline and/or transportation operations experience
- Five (5) years leadership experience
- Solid understanding of the federal and state regulations pertaining to staffing and work rule requirements
- Knowledgeable of analysis and planning techniques
- Knowledge of airline operations and business models
- Demonstrated ability to create and present a business case, including simplifying complex analyses
- Demonstrated broad experience leading large cross-functional teams
- Available for moderate overnight travel (up to 25%)
- Able to work flexible hours and be available for an emergency response on short notice
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug test
- Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
- Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
Crewmember Expectations:
- Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
- When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
- Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun
- Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue’s Safety Management System
- Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards
- Identify safety concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR))
- Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
- Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities
- Regular attendance and punctuality.
- Able to maintain a professional appearance
- Demonstrate an executive presence who is comfortable engaging senior leaders and Board members
- The use of ChatGPT or any other automated tool during the interview process will disqualify a candidate from being considered for the position.

Compensation:
- The base pay range for this position is between $155,000.00 and $175,000.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include performance bonuses, restricted stock units, as well as access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more
