Energy and Climate Equity - Equitable Program Development and Community Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with program portfolios and teams on engagement of disadvantaged community stakeholders and development of equitable programs and policies in fulfillment of the Strategic Outlook equity goals.
Location : Remote (preferably in NY State, but not mandatory) 2 times in a year onsite meeting with Stakeholders
Department : Energy and Climate Equity
Duration : 2 years
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate on clean energy programs and policies focused on equity.
- Engage disadvantaged community stakeholders and ensure their voices are included.
- Research and recommend fair and inclusive program models.
- Build relationships with environmental justice and low/moderate-income groups.
- Support community-based organizations and ensure proper compensation.
- Document efforts and suggest improvements for future strategy.
Technical & Sector:
- Deep knowledge in clean energy (especially efficiency and distributed energy tech).
- Familiar with environmental justice and community planning.
- Know how to create and manage community benefits agreements.
- Must have : Clean energy and community engagement experience.
- Nice to have : Experience in clean energy workforce development.
- Clean energy Technical expert. Community stake holders, Energy and climate exp Must
- 1-2 team assign and relationship development.
- Environmental justice, code design process for engagement process.
- Clean energy workforce & development person ideal to hire . Community exp, Community communication,
- advanced stakeholder management, strategic planning, and equitable program development expertise within NYSERDA.
Communication & Engagement:
- Clear writing for technical and general audiences.
- Skilled in multicultural stakeholder engagement.
- Confident presenting to executives and community members.
Project Management:
- Able to lead complex programs.
- Can identify access barriers and suggest solutions.
- Organized, collaborative, and flexible.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required
- 10 15 years of experience in clean energy or community planning
Tools & Systems:
- Required : Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat
- Training provided : Salesforce, Confluence (Knowledge Base), Oracle/PeopleSoft
