Specialist
About Us:
Founded in 2001 and located in Harlem, the Reading Team is a dedicated organization that provides evidence-based literacy programs to children in Pre-K through 5th grades in New York City.
At The Reading Team, we prioritize the academic growth of our children. With our comprehensive approach, each child receives 90+ minutes of engaging, on-task activities, five days a week. Our programs are thoughtfully designed to focus on essential early literacy components such as phonics, explicit comprehension strategies, oral and written expression, and analytical skills.
Over the course of our existence, we have proudly fostered substantial literacy growth and academic achievements for over 10,000 children hailing from economically challenged backgrounds and underserved neighborhoods. We firmly believe that every child deserves the opportunity to succeed, and we aim to inspire more children to develop a lifelong love for reading, equipping them with the tools they need to thrive in their educational journeys and beyond.
