Duties Description ITS provides operational support to state agencies on a 24x7x365 basis; some positions may be required to provide this critical service at any time.Under the direction of a Manager Information Technology Services 1, SG27, within the Dedicated Support team, Office of Mental Health Portfolio, specific duties include but are not limited to:- Lead the development and implementation of UI/UX designs.- Mentor staff, enforce UI/UX standards, and coordinate work assignments. - Create accurate time estimates for the completion of UI designs, programming, design reviews. - Lead the CAIRS Application Rewrite effort.- Collaborate with business analysts to translate requirements into system designs which meet business objectives, adapting more efficient processes where possible. - Assist with the creation and maintenance of functional documentation. - Lead and manage the Quality Assurance team.- Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of automated test tools. - Actively adapt to changing technology needs and frameworks to best serve the technical and business needs of the organization. - Assist in the coordination of application migrations. - Assist with unit, system integration, load and performance test planning and validation efforts. - Assist in the completion of system integration tests and remediation of issues as needed. - Debug, troubleshoot and remediate application break/fix issues as needed. - Maintain excellent written and oral communication. - Perform supervisory related tasks for state and/or contract staff.

Minimum Qualifications Open to NYS employees with one year of permanent competitive service as an Information Technology Specialist 4, SG25 OR in a position at the SG23 level or higher deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of Civil Service Law OR in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in advancement of more than two salary grades. Note: If you are on the examination eligible list for the position title in this location, you do not need to respond to this posting unless you are also eligible for appointment by one of the qualifications listed above. Candidates must be reachable on the current eligible list for this title in order to be list appointed.
