Seven Healthcare are seeking a dedicated SMH Level 1 RN Psych ER for a travel assignment in New York. This role focuses on psychiatric nursing within an emergency room environment, providing care to patients with emotional and psychological needs. The position requires working straight night shifts and may involve holiday, on-call, or callback duties as per unit requirements.

Key Responsibilities of the SMH Level 1 RN Psych ER

• Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients and relatives to gather case history.
• Plan and provide nursing care for patients.
• Make nursing diagnoses of the medical and emotional status of patients and recommend treatment options.
• Consult with psychiatrists and other behavioral health staff to design appropriate treatment plans.
• Administer and record reactions to psychotropic drugs and other medications.
• Arrange further medical attention when necessary.
• Assist the client in understanding the nature of emotional disturbances and accepting the need for treatment.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff and patients.
• Test for vital signs of pain and ensure pain treatments.
• Document all patient information on medical charts and follow physician's written orders.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Keep accurate records and documentation of patient treatments, immunizations, and laboratory results according to standard medical recordkeeping.
• Perform administrative assignments such as filing, answering phones, typing, and completing progress notes in the computer system.
• Provide courteous, high-quality service to patients and the public by personally responding to requests for service or making appropriate referrals.

• NY License ONLY
• BLS Certification (AHA) ONLY
• Telemetry
• Minimum 2 years of experience
