Information Technology Specialist 2 (Server Admin) (NYHELPS)

The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Administer on-premises Microsoft Exchange Servers.• Administer O365 email.• Support Active Directory and domain controllers.• Support multi-factor authentication.• Administer Single-Sign On using Entra-ID.• Fulfill work orders and incident resolution.• Server OS and exchange patching, vulnerability remediation and compliance checks.• Support disaster recovery.• Support RHEL and Windows servers.

Minimum Qualifications For appointment via NY HELPs: • Bachelor's or higher-level degree including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science; OR• Bachelor's or higher-level degree in any field AND one year of experience in information technology; OR• 60 semester credit hours including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science AND one year of experience in information technology; OR• Two years of experience in information technology.Note: Certain math and business courses, although taken as part of a computer science curriculum, are not counted towards the 15 semester credit hours. For competitive appointment: • List appointment: Reachable on current Civil Service eligible list for this title.• Transfer: Current New York State employee with one year of permanent competitive class service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 52.6 of Civil Service Law. Appointments via transfer must not result in a second, consecutive transfer with an advancement of more than two S-grades.
