Classroom Support Staff – Pro Action’s Birth to 5 Head Start Program is accepting applications for Classroom Support Staff for our classroom in Penn Yan, NY.

The Support Staff position is a full time, 10-month (school year calendar) position that is eligible for benefits that include health insurance and a retirement plan with employer contributions, generous paid time off and several paid holidays.

As a Classroom Support Staff, you are a valued member of the classroom team working with young children and building strong relationships with families. You will have direct, daily interaction with children and assist with implementing classroom and small group activities. You will work to maintain a clean and sanitary classroom environment and be involved in the preparation and/or serving of meals and snacks for children. 

In carrying out all responsibilities, the Classroom Support Staff must adhere to Head Start Performance Standards and New York State Day Care Regulations.

A high school diploma and prior experience working with young children are required for Classroom Support Staff. Experience in a classroom setting is preferred. The ideal candidate must have a driver’s license that meets agency standards and consistent, reliable transportation that will allow regular travel in and around the service area.
