Program Manager, Onboarding – Mountain View, California; New York City, New York; San Francisco, California; Seattle, Washington
Location flexibility: While candidates in the listed location(s) are encouraged for this role, candidates in other locations will be considered. This role is responsible for creating a cohesive and connected employee experience through scalable, streamlined programs. In the near term, it will lead the redesign of our new hire onboarding experience — building an integrated, automated journey that accelerates time-to-productivity, strengthens first-year retention, and reduces manual effort for cross-functional partners. Over time, this role will expand to evolve and enhance broader employee experience programs, including initiatives such as Employee Resource Group (ERG) programming.
The impact you will have
As a Program Manager, you will own a large, complex, cross-functional strategic initiative by executing on the redesign and operationalization of our global onboarding experience. Your work will deliver impact across multiple Functions and Regions, and should be able to make a reasonable case for >$500K-$1M+ impact in time/cost savings and risk reduction by improving new hire setup efficiency and retention. You will be setting the standard for how Employee Experience programs are designed and scaled across the organization.
What you will do
- Execute on the redesign and deliver the end-to-end onboarding experience that measurably improves setup efficiency, clarity, and new hire belonging across all global regions.
- Build out a repeatable operating rhythm for onboarding (governance, KPIs, intake, updates, measurement), ensuring sustainability and high-quality execution.
- Continue and evolve deep alignment with complex cross-functional partners (IT, Talent Acquisition, L&D, People Ops, Facilities, Security, Legal) with a clear RACI and shared success metrics to streamline the experience and reduce partner effort.
- Create repeatable, scalable systems and templates for program design, stakeholder updates, and reporting that are reusable for other future EX programs.
- Scale the team's capabilities by helping your team leader develop structure in EX standards, governance, and measurement frameworks and providing mentorship to junior Program team members.
What we look for
- Strategic Program Leadership & Execution: Proven ability to independently scope and lead large, complex, cross-functional programs. Must possess strong operational rigor and a track record of driving workstreams to completion with quality and speed.
- System-Builder Mindset: Demonstrated experience scaling cross-functional, multisystem global programs. You must have experience designing and implementing a comprehensive governance model that is successfully adopted across diverse functions.
- Change Management and Stakeholder Influence: Expertise in navigating ambiguity and driving swift resolution to functional misalignment across diverse and senior stakeholders.
- Data-Driven Decision Making & Storytelling: Ability to define and instill operating rigor (cadence, metrics, reviews), including evolving existing KPIs to track and improve the work and using data to influence prioritization decisions.
- Coaching and Collaboration: Actively involved in developing others by mentoring peers/junior PMs and leading capability-building initiatives.
- Experience Profile: Generally targeting 8-12+ years of relevant professional experience, with substantial experience owning global, end-to-end employee experience programs.
