Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and hands-on SMT Programmer and Production Manager with 5+ years experience in electronics manufacturing, specializing in Surface Mount Technology (SMT), mixed technology assemblies, and complex product builds for mission critical systems. This role requires a strong understanding of SMT line processes, equipment programming, job setup, operation and maintenance schedules, as well as, PCB and tooling design to optimize output and reduce fall out. Familiarity or some experience with cross-departmental roles such as purchasing a plus but not required, role will include assisting with parts procurement, material scheduling per build plan, material follow up and lead time management to mitigate gaps in material, and component overages, and shortages.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, modify, and optimize programs for SMT machines (e.g., MYDATA, MPM machines, AOI systems, etc.)
• Interpret engineering drawings, Gerber files, and Bill of Materials (BOM) for programming and setup.
• Set up and verify SMT machine parameters and feeder placement for accurate part placement.
• Perform first article inspections and work with QC to ensure boards meet specifications.
• Troubleshoot SMT programming issues and perform root cause analysis for placement or quality errors.
• Maintain and update documentation for all SMT programs and machine setups.
• Cross department and customer collaboration to ensure efficient workflow.
• Provide training and support to SMT operators on proper machine use and program interpretation.
• Ensure compliance with ESD, IPC, ISO 9001:2015 standards and company requirements during all processes.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience programming SMT placement machines in an electronics manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with SMT programming software and tools.
• Ability to read and interpret PCB schematics, Gerber files, and BOMs.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and IPC standards (e.g., IPC-A-610), ESD practices.
• Experience with AOI, SPI, reflow oven and selective solder machines programming.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
• Manual dexterity to operate tools and SMT equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
