Job Title: Surgical Technician – Pediatric Operating Room

Location: Syracuse, NY

Job Type: Travel/Contract

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8-Hour Shifts | Day or Evening | 40 Hours/Week

Compensation:
Local Pay Rate: $47/hour

Travel Pay Rate: $54/hour

• Prepare and maintain a sterile field in compliance with infection control and hospital protocols.

• Assist the surgical team by anticipating needs and handling instruments during procedures.

• Perform scrub duties for a wide range of surgical cases, including:

  • Orthopedics

  • General Surgery

  • ENT (Ear, Nose & Throat)

  • Vascular Surgery

  • Gynecology (GYN)

  • Neurosurgery, Bariatric, GU, and Trauma

• Accurately maintain surgical counts and ensure the proper use of surgical tools and supplies.

• Participate in room turnover and preparation for subsequent cases.

• Communicate and collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and support staff.

• Uphold the highest standards in surgical safety, aseptic technique, and patient care.

• Minimum 3 years of recent OR experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center, or comparable acute care setting.

• Proven scrub tech experience across multiple surgical specialties.

• Pediatric OR experience – strongly preferred.

• OB scrub experience – highly desired.

• First-time travelers may be considered with experience in high-acuity hospital environments.

• Strong communication, teamwork, and critical-thinking skills.

• CST Certification – preferred but not mandatory .

• Self-sufficient with minimal orientation required.
