Actalent Services is looking for full time Phlebotomists and Mobile Phlebotomists for positions across Central New York
Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and specimen collection (blood, urine, fecal, etc.) using straight and butterfly needles
- Clearly and courteously explain collection procedures to patients
- Label, centrifuge, split, freeze, and store specimens per test requirements
- Match specimens to laboratory requisitions and physician orders with 100% accuracy
- Verify test requisitions and labels against scripts or computer-generated orders
- Properly package specimens for transport and store samples at required temperatures
- Follow protocol-specific handling and transport procedures to maintain specimen integrity
- Record equipment maintenance data and perform decontamination as required
- Update and maintain accurate patient information
- Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and laboratory safety standards
- Attend required annual department trainings
- Answer incoming calls and communicate laboratory results as needed
Requirements - Note- Client requirements vary per site and position
- Must have reliable vehicle and active driver's license for floating positions.
- 2 active forms of identification for I9 - cannot provide sponsorship at this time.
- High school diploma or GED
- 1.5 years+ of phlebotomy experience (some roles seek 4+ years)
- Ability to travel to all sites: Auburn, Watertown, Oneida, Ithaca, Syracuse (Court St), East Syracuse, Liverpool (W. Taft Rd), Camillus, Syracuse (James St), Liverpool (Oswego)
- Must be able to pass physical exam
- Must be able to pass drug test
Wage
$20.00 - $22.00 per hourBenefits
