Key Responsibilities of the Emergency Department Registered Nurse

• Connect with patients and families during triage, providing updates and support.
• Conduct primary and secondary assessments to determine care priorities.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to achieve patient-centered outcomes.
• Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures and offer post-emergency care referrals.
• Communicate effectively to educate patients and families about ongoing care.
• Maintain patient comfort and safety throughout their emergency department visit.

Requirements of the Emergency Department Registered Nurse

• BLS, ACLS, PALS, Stroke Certification (Must be AHA or RQI)
• Two years of acute hospital experience as an RN
• One year of ED hospital experience as an RN
