As a Professional Civil Engineer and vital member of Rail and Transit Team in the Northeast Region, you’ll develop design elements (such as horizontal and vertical track alignments and trackwork components) on a variety of exiting large rail projects so we can shape lasting solutions for the future. Leading and working alongside a team, you’ll work on projects from concept to completion. In this position you will be supporting various aspect of track/rail design, calculations and engineering services on both design-bid-build and design-build projects.
You’ll be responsible for creating design and drawings using software tools and resources supporting our clients’ overall project goals. You’ll support the development of Contract Documents for Construction; and lead, coordinate, and be responsible for a variety of tasks from concept to completion. You will be counted on to facilitate completion of project assignments with those of other engineers and with other technical disciplines as necessary; and will provide written responses and memorandums as related to project tasks. We’ll ask you to develop technical specifications and to prepare construction cost estimates for rail/transit projects. Also, with involvement in Construction Phase Services reviewing Contractor submittals and requests for information you’ll ensure we’re doing better together!

Here's what you'll need
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
• Licensed and registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of New York and willingness to pursue PE in other Northeast states (if does not already hold)
• Has demonstrated years of professional experience on rail and transit projects
• Professional expertise with MicroStation and/or InRail (or AutoCad)
• Knowledge of AREMA and other local railroad criteria
• Experience working with Northeast Transportation Agencies - MTA, Amtrak, NJ TRANSIT, etc.
• Strong analytical, conceptual, communication and organizational skills
• Demonstrates strong problem-solving mindset working in Team Environment
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong focus on client service
• Coordinating the development of bid documents including plans, specifications, bid items, and construction cost estimates
• Ability to coordinate, develop and assemble bid documents including plan sets and specifications meeting client expectations

The base salary range for this position is $115,000.00 to $200,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
